  • Collection summary Color architectural and design presentation boards (9) and digital photographic print (1) related to the planning and grand opening of the Center on Halsted's new building at 3656 North Halsted (opened in 2007). Photograph depicts the building ribbon cutting ceremony in June 2007. Presentation boards include examples of campaign and event branding designs and fundraising advertisements, as well as interior and exterior renderings of the building created by Gensler architectural firm. The Center on Halsted is a social service organization for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community in Chicago. Founded in 1973 as Gay Horizons; later operated Horizons Clinic; then became known as Horizons Community Services; renamed Center on Halsted in 2003. Donors to the building fund included Mayor Richard M. Daley and Billie Jean King.
