Also included are eleven scrapbooks that consist mostly of newspaper clippings. Topics include Dedmon's service in the Army Air Corps during World War II; his professional and civic affiliations, particularly the American Society of Newspaper Editors (ca. 1966-75), University of Chicago (ca. 1975-78), Young Men's Christian Association (1965-70), and the Chicago Historical Society; and manuscripts of his writings, including Fabulous Chicago (1953) and Our Light-Hearted History of the Tavern Club in Its 50th Year, 1928-1978 (with Sarah Brown Boyden). Scrapbooks include clippings of articles, many by Dedmon, including reviews of theater, ballet, concerts, and books.
