Chiefly letters from customers in response to the company's efforts to collect outstanding debts after the Great Chicago Fire of October 1871 destroyed the firm's records. Includes letters from David and Henry Folsom in New York City commenting on the fire losses and advising that orders should be referred to the St. Louis (Mo.) store. The partnership agreement included the Folsom brothers of New York, Thomas T. More of Proviso (Ill.), and Calvin P. Pease of Cicero (Ill.), April 1, 1871.
