    • Popeil comes from a long line of Chicago pitchmen and got his start at Maxwell Street Market in the 1950s, hawking his father Samuel J. Popeil's kitchen tools such as the Veg-O-Matic. In 1964, he started his own company, Ronco, which marketed such products as the Miracle Brush and the Buttoneer throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Ron Popeil made a comeback in the 1990s, creating new products like his Food Dehydrator and Showtime Rotisserie and taking his pitch to the masses through the television infomercial with his classic "But Wait! There's More!" extras.
