  • Collection summary Primarily views of Chicago's main streets, large commercial buildings, and residences of prominent Chicagoans. Streets include Clark, Lake Shore Drive, Michigan Avenue, Randolph, South Water and State Streets. Commercial buildings include major hotels, Board of Trade, Real Estate Board, Chamber of Commerce, Monadnock, Rookery, Home Insurance building and others. Also includes municipal structures, such as the post office, the court house, and water works. Includes several views of Jackson Park, Lincoln Park and Washington Park race track along with smaller parks and plazas. Some images depict organizations' buildings and churches, major buildings of the World's Columbian Exposition, and interior and exterior views of the Union Stock Yards.
