The Philippine Nurses Association of Illinois is a professional organization that seeks to advance the interests of Filipino-American nurses in the state of Illinois. The organization was born in 1957 as the Filipino Nurses Association of Chicago and served to support participants in the Exchange Nurse Program. The organization was renamed the Philippine Nurses Association of Chicago in 1966. It assumed its current name in 1993 to reflect its statewide scope. The Philippine Nurses Association of Illinois has lobbied in its membersğt;' interests, organized continuing education programs, been instrumental in the creation of a national Filipino nursesğt;' organization, and offered benevolent support to its members and to the Filipino-American community. The organization has issued a publication throughout much of its existence.

This collection documents the activities of the Philippine Nurses Association of Illinois since its inception in 1957 and is organized into six series. The collection contains copies of the organizationğt;'s publications, event programs, presidential records, miscellaneous organizational material, and photographs.
