The Southport Neighbors Association (SNA) represents the residents and businesses in the Southport neighborhood of Chicago located in the heart of Lakeview. It was established in 1988 as a not-for-profit organization serving the neighborhood, which is bounded by Addison Street on the South, Irving Park Road on the North, Ashland Avenue on the West, and Clark Street on the East. Its mission is to encourage compatible residential and business development efforts, initiate and support beautification projects, including landscaping and adding holiday decorations and summer plantings along Southport. It provides a forum for residents and merchants to express their opinions on timely issues, including a quality of life, property values and safety and seeks to promote a greater sense of community through neighborhood meetings and social events. The Southport Neighbors Association attempts to create a more family-friendly, and livable community.

This collection contains minutes, newsletters, correspondence, and photographs documenting the activities of the Southport Neighbors Association. It also contains records on housing in Chicago's Southport neighborhood and surveys of neighborhood residents.
