  • Collection summary Image of Jimmy Scheckard of the National League's Chicago Cubs, running across home plate on the field at Comiskey Park in Chicago, Illinois, during a 1912 City Series baseball game between the Cubs and the American League's Chicago White Sox. An unidentified White Sox catcher is standing behind home plate, holding his hands out in front of him to catch a baseball, and an unidentified umpire is standing behind the catcher. Another unidentified Cubs player is running on the third baseline towards home plate in the background. Comiskey Park was located at 324 West 35th Street and bounded by West 34th Street, South Shield's Avenue (formerly Portland Avenue), and South Wentworth Avenue in the Armour Square community area.
