  • Collection summary Photographs made by Mosher of the beaches, streets, and people of Chicago's Loop and Near North Side, creating a portfolio of street photography prints that revealed his interest and attention to the variety and texture of the urban landscape. Mosher's photographs look at people often caught unawares in the context of a dense and gritty Chicago landscape. Includes 3 series designated by the photographer: Events series; Loop and Near North series; and Beach and Waterfront series. Though street photography by its nature implies a view into the lives of anonymous passersby, Mosher also captured views of a few of the city's most notable residents, including Mayor Richard J. Daley, Mike Royko, John Belushi, and Senator Paul Simon.
  • Biographical or Historical Note Robert Mosher, who was an automotive engineer, earned an M.S. degree in Photography from the Institute of Design in 1972.
