  • Collection summary Chiefly scrapbooks consisting largely of newspaper clippings and theatrical programs, reflecting all stages of Lord's career, including his early stage career in California, later activities in Pennsylvania, and residency in Chicago beginning in the early 1930s, where he became active in radio and television dramas; together with correspondence, primarily brief notes, from conservative politicians and others. Scrapbook also include some photographs and handbills about Philip Lord's acting career in theater, radio, and television, chiefly in Chicago and the Midwest, and to his membership in entertainers' organizations. Also present are a journal written aboard the USS New York (25 p, ca. 1943), a few incoming cards and letters, and a sound recording of a speech given by Lord to a meeting of A.F.R.A.
