  • Collection summary Includes films from the collection owned by professional filmmaker Tressel. Includes a master print, a 16 mm. print, and a videocassette entitled: "Midway memories," regarding newsreels taken at University of Chicago (1950s) and films of the University of Chicago urban redevlopment project in the Hyde Park community (ca. 1950-1955), that were restored and transferred by Tressel. Films made by Tressel include "Outdoor education in Cook County" (ca. 1950-1955), a compilation of public service announcements for the Cook County Forest Preserves (1950s), "Thickness gauging with radioisotopes" (made for the Atoms-for-Peace conference, 1955), "Argonne National Laboratories picnic" (ca. 1960-1965), and "The story of Elim" (a Dutch Reformed church that ran programs for handicapped persons, ca. 1952).
