  • Collection summary
    • Black-and-white and color photographic prints, contact sheets, and negatives, as well as press releases documenting the restoration and reopening of the Chicago Theatre and the adjacent Page Brothers Building by the Chicago Theater Preservation Group, Ltd., a partner in the Chicago Theater Restoration Associates. Images primarily depict interior and exterior architectural details and restoration work in process. Also included are images of theatrical and orchestral stagings from early Chicago Theatre productions (1920s and later) and portraits of principals of the Chicago Theater Restoration Associates and entertainers.
    • The Chicago Theater Preservation Group (CTPG), a for-profit Illinois corporation established solely for the purpose of preserving the Chicago Theatre, was comprised of real estate attorney Marshall M. Holleb and economic development consultants Margery al Chalabi and Suhail al Chalabi. Working with the city of Chicago to purchase and preserve the theater, this project served as a case study for similar private/public ventures to save urban landmarks.
